Matt is the technical half of Sherpa. Where most agencies stop at strategy, he writes the systems: the data pipelines, the AI agents that answer the phone and follow up on every lead, and the automations that move a job from first call to signed change order without anyone retyping a thing.

His work starts with the plumbing nobody sees. Contractor software is a pile of disconnected tools, and the data that would actually run a business is scattered across them or never captured at all. Matt's job is to connect it, capture what's missing, and put AI on top of a foundation that can hold it.

Every build is production software, not a demo. It runs inside real contracting businesses, on real jobs, every week, and it gets rebuilt the moment a better approach exists. The long-term thesis is written down in the self-running contracting business, with shorter essays under the future of the trades.

One rule governs everything he ships. The client owns the machine: the data, the systems, the automations, and the customer list, from day one. No lock-in, no hostage data, no rented infrastructure.

Sherpa's other co-founder is Jay Ragan, who comes at the same problem from the operator side.
